The decisive advantage of an LED wall over green screen is its flexibility. Camera movements and perspectives can be adjusted as desired. Time, weather and objects can be changed at will and in real time, so the background can be designed very flexible. The resulting time savings and the fact that all actors on set can already see the result "in camera" saves a lot of time and money, especially in post-production. In addition, the actors are standing in their scene and can therefore interact much better and naturally. The immersive indirect lighting and the real reflections of the objects in the room are further decisive advantages.

Temporary installations simplify the production process and can also be realized with the same production crew at the main shooting location by eliminating travel time and travel costs. Our examples of temporary installations show a part of the application areas. Large, real objects, such as a boat, an airplane, an omnibus or a train cannot be moved from A to B so easily. The appropriate backgrounds can be realized very easily without blocking streets or railroad lines. Even a flight into space is possible here at any time.

With our many years of experience in the field of professional LED walls, we have already used LED screens for the first time in 2018 in areas where previously only green screens had been used. In addition to the LED screens, the right choice of tracking systems, cameras and lenses, media servers and the right software tools is crucial to ensure that the result in the camera image looks like it was shot in real life.

In addition to our 3 LED studios in Cologne, Mannheim and Berlin, we have now also equipped numerous smaller studios in permanent installations with this technology. Also plenty of temporary installations from small LED screens to large LED surfaces are equipped with our material pool of high-resolution LED screens, tracking systems, cameras and media servers.

Munich – The Edge of War

A British diplomat travels to Munich in the run-up to World War II, where a former classmate of his from Oxford is also en route, but is working for the German government.
